There’s no doubt about it, setbacks can make you feel disillusioned, scared and like you’re letting yourself or others down somehow.
Wallowing in your own disappointment and throwing yourself a ‘pity party’ is understandable, but it only keeps you stuck.
Where there is setback, reframe it and see it as an opportunity to RISE to the challenge and grow. Of course, that’s easier said than done when you’re hurting, and you feel like shit. The key is to rethink how your setback can actually motivate you to make changes.
Don’t let a setback define you, rather use it to propel yourself into action. Ask yourself, what can you learn about yourself from what happened? What changes can you make that can make a difference in the future?
It’s better to give yourself a moment to breathe and then stand up and get back on the horse. Take actionable steps to get back on track.
